A long walk

Yesterday I went to meet my Uncle as usual at 7.30am for our Saturday morning walk. Instead of taking our usual 4-5km trial (including walking home) we decided to venture onto the longer 8km trial. If we had walked at our usual pace it should us around 1hour 45minues to about 2hours to complete the 8km trial but both of us brought along our cameras and started clicking here and there even before we hit the actual trial. And guess what, by the time we walked out to Venus Drive, it took us a total of 4hours!

My uncle was complaining like crazy because as usual he has not taken his breakfast before his walk! So being a good nephew, I accompanied to Thomson Plaza for his breakfast-cum-lunch and bought some groceries from NTUC for my mum before going home.

I find it very refreshing to take on a new route every now and then. It gives me the opportunity to explore the unknown and to look at different things (different scenery). Following are some images I took along the route with my Nikon D70s camera, a Nikon VR 18-200 lens and a compact Nikon SB400 flash (for fill-in). Occasionally I had to put on a Hoya +3 filter for the close-up pictures of the tiny insects. If I hadn't taken the new route yesterday then I would have missed out on these images.
